We received this orchid from our supplier with a long stem and just one bloom and thought that maybe they made a mistake. Was this the Charlie Brown Christmas tree of orchids?
It turns out this is an Oncidium Mendenhall ‘Hildos’ — a seasonal orchid that only has one bloom but is quite dramatic when it opens:
It has about a 5 inch wingspan — wow!
